Louisville Police arrest suspected serial armed robber

Police say a delivery driver for Domino’s Pizza handed over more than a pizza when he was robbed by several armed men. Police say the driver was making a delivery on E. Oak St. in early December when three men wearing ski masks and bandanas approached him.
One of the men, identified by police as 21-year-old Haris Boskailo, pulled a gun and took the victim’s cell phone, $30 in cash as well as the pizza and the pizza delivery bag.

No. 18 Louisville women upend Providence 64-48

Freshman Bria Smith scored 12 points and the No. 18 Louisville Cardinals defeated Providence 64-48 Wednesday night. Becky Burke went 3 of 3 from behind the arc to add 11 points and Antonita Slaughter had 10 points. Asia Taylor had eight points and 10 rebounds in 14 minutes for Louisville (15-4, 4-2 Big East).
Alicia Cropper was the only Providence player to reach double figures, pacing the Friars (10-9, 2-4) with 14 points. Leading scorer Teya Wright managed just three points, 10 below her season average.
Fans heavily invested in Louisville basketball

A little early to be expecting change, much less demanding it. Lots of people up in arms, panic mode in full effect, wanting to pin the blame on someone for the downward spiral of the University of Louisville’s basketball fortunes. Five games after this team was 12-0 and fourth in the national polls.
Many blaming Rick Pitino, questioning his oversight, including the offense, substitution patterns, practice sessions, Pitino Fans heavily invested in Louisville basketballhis recruiting shortcomings. Even Denny Crum getting into the act Wednesday, wondering whether Pitino works his players too hard. Whether it’s appropriate or not for a former coach to be criticizing his replacement can be debated but it’s out there.

Hoyas impressive in win at Louisville

John Thompson III has to be proud of his Hoyas after his team ended Louisville’s 20-game home win streak.
My friends, this Georgetown team is for real and proof of that came at the Yum Center on Wednesday. Let’s remember that the Hoyas were picked 10th in the Big East preseason poll. Next week you may see Georgetown in the top 10 of the national rankings.
You may not have heard enough about Otto Porter, Markel Starks or Henry Sims, but these guys played like all-world performers against the Cardinals.
Reid out for season for No. 14 Louisville women

Louisville announced Thursday that forward Monique Reid will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a left knee injury in the second half of the 14th-ranked Cardinals game against Cincinnati on Dec. 14. More >
